About the project

Our project starts with a story. We help astronauts and space shuttle officers who encounter some problems in space and we produce solutions with our students by using Stanford Design Thinking model like a support team base in the Earth. Before these challenging points, we have planned briefings and events about the processes of the Stanford Design Thinking model, 3D printing facilitates and designing technologies to find solutions to the problems that astronouts encounter in space.

 

AIMS

The Project aims To enable students to create awareness about space and empathize problems that may occur in space, to define problems, to produce ideas, to create designs related to these ideas, to create prototype plans and to share these ideas.

 

 

 

WORK PROCESS

In May;

# Introducing the partners,

# Making and sharing logo and posters,

# Submission of the work to vote,

# Sharing the activities to be done with the project schools and informing them,

# Informing students about design thinking,

# Working on space with students,

In June;

# Making a 3D design application tinkercad workshop for students,

# Informing about 3D printers and how they work,

# Holding a workshop on space problems with students using a design-oriented thinking model,

# Converting the prototypes of the work done into prototypes with 3D printers or plasticine

 

 

 

EXPECTED RESULTS

* Supporting the acquisition of problem solving and cooperative learning skills, which are among the OECD 21st Century skills, by students.

* Developing students' curiosity and attitudes towards space.

*Students experience the stages of producing a solution to a problem with the *Stanford design thinking method and transforming the idea into a product.

*Students experience design programs and reveal models of their products in order to transform the ideas they create through problem solving processes into prototypes.

*Students learn about 3D printers and experience the transformation of a design they create into a product with a 3D printer.
